Our crates provide more protection than cardboard boxes and are lighter than wooden crates, while offering the same—if not better—level of protection. They are designed for local and international transport, with a focus on sustainability.

Sustainable and Lightweight Furniture Packaging

We make all Rebul Packaging crates using biodegradable honeycomb boards and recycled paper, bonded with water-based glue. As a result, these crates are lighter, more sustainable, and eco-friendly compared to other materials like wood and plastic, while still offering the same level of protection.

The materials we use make the crates are shock absorbent, impact resistant, non-abrasive, and ISPM15 Exempt (no fumigation required). This combination makes them ideal for packaging high-end, valuable, and fragile furniture. In addition, each crate can be reused several times, depending on the material thickness, and is fully recyclable and biodegradable.

Handles
Handles make it easier to lift and move packed crates, which reduces the risk of damage during handling.

Example:
For a 10kg designer chair being shipped from Cape Town to Johannesburg, we can add two handles to the crate to ensure easy handling.
Furniture Packaging with Honeycomb Pallet
Honeycomb pallets are a sustainable alternative to wooden pallets. Therefore they offer the same level of support as a timber one, but at a significantly reduced weight making them perfect for lighter shipments

Example:
A 100kg conference table can be packed in a Freight Crate with a honeycomb pallet, providing strong support and allows it be moved with a pallet jack or forklift while reducing shipping costs.
Dividers & Inserts
For multi-piece furniture or sets that need to be shipped together in a single crate, we offer custom dividers and inserts. These ensure that each component of the furniture remains securely in place, preventing internal movement that could lead to damage.

Example:
Several mirrors can be packed into a single crate with inserts and dividers to prevent movement, ensuring each piece remains protected during transit.
Plywood Base Integration
For heavier or top-heavy furniture, with pointy feet we integrate a 16mm plywood sheet to provide extra strength and stability during shipping. This allows the addition of strapping, which ensures that the item remains secure, even if the journey involves frequent handling.

Example:
A 750kg oddly shaped cabinet with long pointy feet being shipped internationally benefits from a reinforced plywood base to maintain stability throughout the journey.
Timber Pallet Integration
Ideal for large or bulky items that require forklifts or pallet jacks, we integrate a timber pallet into the crate. Allowing for easy movement during loading and unloading, minimizing the risk of damage due to improper handling.

Example:
A 2Ton marble table being shipped to a remote area can be packed in a Freight Crate with a timber pallet integration, allowing for easy handling with machinery.

Honeycomb boards are used as dividers and inserts to protect, secure, and compartmentalize furniture during transit.
